I was deeply saddened to learn of Guido’s passing.
I was one of the first foreign PhD students in Physics at the Monte Sant’Angelo campus, arriving in Naples far from home and in a completely new environment. From the very beginning, Guido was one of the people who made me feel welcome. He had an extraordinary gift for helping people, not only by solving countless administrative problems (you know Italy!), but also through his kindness, warmth, and genuine smile, which could brighten even the roughest day.
One of my deepest memories is seeing Guido arriving at the Monte Sant’Angelo campus on his bicycle. The image of him walking alongside his bicycle, always smiling and greeting everyone, will remain with me forever. Whenever I think of my years in Naples, that is one of the first memories that comes to mind.
He made my years in Naples happier, easier, and truly unforgettable. I will always be grateful for his friendship, his generosity, and the support he gave me and so many other young researchers who studied at Monte Sant’Angelo.
My deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. Guido will always have a very special place in my memories.
