I will not miss you !

I will not miss you !

No, Guido, I will not miss you, for you have never really gone. You have only shed your earthly
form and transformed into pure energy—limitless, omnipresent, and free to flow through the
universe. Your are quietly present in every moment and in our memory.

Whenever I close my eyes, I see you with your childlike smile. I can still picture you riding your
bicycle at an incredible speed that would make many youngsters envious.

I remember how concerned you were when I arrived in Napoli in April 2010. You made sure
everything was ready so that students like me would feel safe and comfortable. Yes, You made Napoli feel like home for so many of us.

I still remember our very first walk through the city center, along Mergellina, a spontaneous visit toCastel dell’Ovo. We wandered like college friends. This is the photograph I took that day, and it remains one of my most treasured memories.
I will always cherish our countless conversations in the department. I still smile when I think about how you used to tease me by calling me “Prof. Sharma” after I joined my position in India.

Yes, there are countless memories that I will cherish forever. You had a rare gift for making every student feel special. Each one of us look upon you during the times of trouble.

Do you remember when I was blessed with a baby boy? Well, now I also have a daughter. Time fly so quickly. Honestly, I have so much going on in my mind, I don’t know how to react. But one thing I know for sure is that you changed the lives of so many people, including mine.

I am sure you are surrounded by the blessings and gratitude of everyone whose life you touched.
Keep smiling, Guido. Thank you for everything.

Sei un Mitico !

Damn, I will miss you!

Yours
Nitin
