A questo punto potevamo pure fare trenta o trentacinque, mica cambiava tanto, o no?
I remember you since always, although I don’t remeber the first time, just as I don’t remember the first time in the Department. Must have been in the other Millennium, so you do the math, 26 years and counting. At this point we could have made it 30 or 35, wouldn’t have changed much, don’t you think? Half a century of constant teasing, well aimed and well reaching, because you listened and you understood. In those two decades I went to Napoli from faraway shores there was only you to listen, understand, and use humour and tease as a key for connection, empathy, brotherhood.
Then of course: the mountains the bike the peaks the non-travels and all that great humanity you gifted to everyone who has crossed your path. Too short, Guido, you could have stayed a little longer, don’t you think?
And still, I can not understand how you could ever think of bringing profiterols (!!??) at that dinner, I still keep the box as a token of my utter and neverending incredulity. You even sipped some wine, and yet I did not manage to convince you to go to Patagonia.
It’s left for a next one, Guido, you’ll blaze the trail in other places.
